...I'm probably going to have to take back my 'never posting ever again' statement if shit like this keeps popping up.

"A tool that automatically steals IDs of non-encrypted sessions and breaks into Google Mail accounts has been presented at the Defcon hackers’ conference in Las Vegas.

Last week Google introduced a new feature in Gmail that allows users to permanently switch on SSL and use it for every action involving Gmail, and not only, authentication. Users who did not turn it on now have a serious reason to do so as Mike Perry, the reverse engineer from San Francisco who developed the tool is planning to release it in two weeks."

I am going to ignore the fact that I said I'd never post again only a little over a day ago, but I think this issue needs to be posted about.

Bush and co. have now allowed doctors to choose not to give abortions or sterilizations, because it's against their "conscience". With the wording of the rule itself, it may even extend to birth control.

Personally, I think it's bullshit to be a doctor that refuses to help a patient because your "conscience" doesn't allow you to. What's to stop a doctor to insist that he shouldn't treat gays or transsexuals because of his "conscience"? Or what about anyone of a different race, or hell, he shouldn't be allowed to touch any woman but his wife, it's against his "conscience" so he'd be within full right to deny it? But oh wait, what if his "conscience" says he can't help anyone who doesn't have at least a million dollars in the bank?

Seriously, "conscience" isn't a good basis for making decisions about other people's health.

maho_kiwi has a fine list of things everyone should do to help fight against this law. I strongly urge you guys to at least look at it as chances are, I'm willing to bet this affects all of you to some degree. ~~except maybe you guys outside the US, but you'll still probably get to hear as all bitch if this passes at the least. >>;~~

Please, please, please look at this and do something. This is THAT important.

After some thought, I have decided that I will not be updating this journal again. I won't leave the site entirely and may still be around to comment and participate in communities, but for now that will be glorious's only purpose. (THOUGH NOW I CONSIDER MYSELF AN ACTIVIST, LOL WHUT?)
